Launching across South Africa

A dog walker at your door, when you need one.

Most dog walking runs on booking forms and hope. OnlyPaws works like calling a ride: tap once, get matched with a vetted walker nearby, then watch the whole walk on a live map.

Free to join. We'll email you once, when we open in your suburb. Nothing else.

Walks that happen now, not next Tuesday

Book ahead if you like. But when the day gets away from you, a walker who's online nearby can be moving within minutes.

On-demand matching

Walkers go online when they're free. Request a walk and it goes straight to the ones nearby who are free right now. No waiting on a reply to a booking form.

A live map, the whole way

Follow the walk as it happens. You see where your dog is, in real time, from the moment the walk starts until they're home.

A proper report back

Every walk ends with the route taken, distance covered, how long they were out, and whether your dog did their business.

Chat that stays in the app

Message your walker about gate codes, the tricky leash, or a dog who hates skateboards, without swapping phone numbers.

Ratings both ways

You rate your walker, and they rate you. Good owners and good walkers both get to build a reputation worth having.

Your dog, properly described

Size, energy, how they are with other dogs, whether they pull, medical notes. Your walker knows what they're picking up before they arrive.

You're handing over your dog. We take that seriously.

Anyone can put a friendly photo on a profile. Here is what a walker goes through before they can accept a single walk.

  1. South African ID, checked against Home Affairs They photograph their ID book or Smart ID card. It gets read automatically and checked against the official record, not eyeballed by us.
  2. A live selfie, matched to the ID A liveness check confirms there's a real person in front of the camera, and their face is matched to the photo on their ID. A stolen document doesn't get anyone through.
  3. Proof of where they live A recent utility bill, bank statement or lease in their name. Knowing who someone is and knowing where they live are two different things.
  4. References we follow up Two people who can vouch for them, on the record.
  5. A human decision, every time Every walker is reviewed and approved by a person before they go live. At our size that is a feature rather than a bottleneck. Nobody slips through on volume.

Being straight with you: we do not yet run fingerprint-based criminal record checks. In South Africa those legally require SAPS-verified fingerprints through a bureau, which takes days and real money for every walker. It is on the roadmap as we grow. We would rather tell you where the line sits than let you assume a check we do not do.

And we keep watching once the walk starts

Vetting tells you who you're trusting. It doesn't watch the walk itself, so that's checked too, automatically, for as long as your dog is out, not stitched together from a report afterward.

Checked live, while it's happening

Every live walk is monitored automatically as it happens, watching for anything about the location data that doesn't add up. This runs the whole time, not as a review once the walk is already over.

You hear about it immediately

If something looks wrong mid-walk, you're notified straight away, and so is our team. Proactive by default, you shouldn't have to notice a problem yourself and go looking for who to tell.

Walk dogs. Get paid. Choose your own hours.

If you're good with dogs and reliable, this is a way to earn around whatever else you're doing.

Online when you want to be

Flip yourself online and requests near you come through. Flip off when you're done. No shifts, no minimum hours.

Vetting that works for you

The same checks that reassure owners are what let you charge properly. A verified badge is worth more than a cheap rate.

Everything in one place

Requests, chat, the walk itself, and your ratings all live in the app. You never have to hand out your personal number.

Be first in your suburb

We're opening suburb by suburb so there are enough walkers nearby for on-demand to work. Tell us where you are and we'll come to you sooner.

We'll only use this to tell you when OnlyPaws opens near you. No newsletters, no sharing your details with anyone else.
